Low End Theory from A Tribe Called Quest

Side B – Sidecar

Perhaps the signature drink of the great America Jazz Age, the Sidecar is a double-feature of two exceptional French products: Cognac (brandy) and Cointreau. With a sugared rim, it’s a sure hit. And it’s a swanky accompaniment to this uplifting, jazzy masterpiece.

Prepare a glass by wetting the rim and dipping it in the sugar. Shake ingredients with the ice and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with an orange peel.

Ingredients 2 ounces brandy 1 ounce Cointreau 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice Sugar, to rim the glass Orange peel, for garnish

Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band from The Beatles

Side A – East India Cocktail

With this incredible classic, we pay homage to the Beatles’ meeting with the Maharishi in London in 1967. The band then famously traveled to visit the guru in India in ‘68. The first global cocktail, it is a suitably sunny and whimsical drink.

Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with nutmeg.

Ingredients 2 ounces brandy 1/2 ounce orange curaçao 1/2 teaspoon Maraschino liqueur Dash of Angostura bitters 1 1/2 ounces fresh pineapple juice Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish
